Welcome..This blog was created for people who haven't had the opportunity to visit this special island.
Everyone is searching for a special place to visit or even live.
Like the memories we have of our youth..small places..special places that weave magical memories of oceans and fishing boats and fields of flowers. Many times the image or destination doesn't live up to our memory. Destinations up and down the Coast have become overpriced, crowded or commercialized with their culture diluted.
Campobello is a refreshing, unspoiled, authentic seaside destination. A place to get away, that is treasured by artists, writers, families or friends that enjoy spending time with one another. A place where fresh caught Lobster, Seafood, Chowders and Date squares are daily staples.
Breathtaking vistas of crashing surf over well worn rocks and the endless allure of time and tides. Campobello is a place where you can watch whales and dolphins from the shore or take a Whale watch and visit them in their own playground. Lupines, and fragrant wild roses dot the rugged coastal landscape.
Nightlife??....Enjoy the dazzling spectacle of shooting stars over the Bay of Fundy, or take a misty morning walk among lupines, in the afternoon stroll with clouds of dragon flies hovering over sunlit grasses.
The culture is Maritime. Good people in a small & strong community.
Campobello is a peaceful respite from busy life. No traffic lights, no fast food, no shopping malls. The type of people that come here occupy themselves with nature...and there are plenty of secrets to discover.
Walk along the trails in the Provincial Park.. breathe the fresh salt air, or visit beautiful Head Harbour lighthouse, or the Roosevelt Cottage and International Park. There are bake sales, fabulous quilting teas, fresh seafood and warm hearts. Campobello Island bespeaks of a simpler time. Campobello Island is a place where you put on the kettle.. because there's always time for a visitor or neighbour, a cup of tea or coffee. Sit down and relax...you'll be hearing a "Yarn" or two (read: a story). Before you know it Campobello Island and the Bay of Fundy has cast her net over your heart and you will be planning your next visit back. Just remember to bring your passports.
